The color pink was 'discovered' and/or recognized as a color in 800 B.C, in Homer's Odyssey. The work pink was used in the 17th century by a Greek botanist for the ruffled edges of carnations. Later in the 18th century, pink was used as a fashionable color among the aristocrats to show class and luxury.

This color is oftened used and associated with feminine traits and things. When looking at the color its mainly noted as soft, nuturing and playful. Not all shades of pink mean to be nice and nostalgic, the shade that reminds of the soft traits is a light pink which is used mostly in baby clothes or toys etc. Bright and hot pinks are related to things like love and romance. Unfortunately due to pink mainly being in feminine things, pink is often viewed as weak color and emotional.
